In March of 2026 the Seminary renewed its Zoom license and with the new Zoom licensing model new features became available to faculty, staff, and students. Below are summaries of the best new features.
Zoom Scheduler
Do you want to have online office hours? Do you regularly meet with people outside of the Seminary and don’t want to go back-and-forth to figure out a time that works? Do you want to create a poll for people on a committee to say when they can meet? Zoom scheduler can help do all these things.
- You’ll want to connect your Google Calendar to Zoom for the scheduling. This Zoom article can help with that.
- Then you’ll want to set up your booking page (see this Zoom article).
Zoom Clips
Do you want to make a short professional looking video that combines your computer screen and your video in one talking head video? Do you need to send someone a short clip of how to do something? Do you want to annotate the computer screen as you talk? Zoom Clips can do all these things. See an example below.
The captions will show up when you view the clip in the Zoom cloud (like this link).
Or you can create an AI avatar to read a script for you in a Zoom Clip. The video and audio will be all AI generated. See this example below. Please note that you can only create 3 minutes of AI avatars a month.
