Community Life Pancake Breakfast
The snow is falling and finals are fast approaching. So nothing sounds better than some comfort breakfast food to help us get through it all. In celebration of the end of the year, Community Life is hosting a pancake breakfast December 8th from 8:00-9:30 in the OCC Coffee Shop. Come on by before class (or after for our Greek class). All are welcomed. We will have yogurt, juice, fruit, and coffee available along with fun pancake toppings. Staff and faculty, check your inbox to signup for a 30 minute shift to help make and serve the pancakes.
ABIDE Document Open Conversation
Dear Luther Community,
In April 2021, we began sharing with the community a document that framed our DEI work, naming it as ABIDE. The document’s authors, Matt Skinner, Lois Malcom, Ken Reynhout, and Mark Tranvik produced what later became known as the ABIDE document and this was shared across our community.
We are now preparing to get the ABIDE document approved as an institutional document.
Several departments have already provided feedback and we want to invite you to community-wide feedback sessions. These will be on-line gatherings via Zoom.
We are hoping to present this to the board at the May board meeting. Once the communication process has been concluded, the original authors of the document will amend it and prepare it for presentation to the board. Our aim, ultimately, is to steer a process that will culminate in the board’s review and approval for use of the ABIDE document as an institutional document.
We have allowed for two dates and you can attend either one (or both). These will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 10 a.m.–11 a.m. (facilitated by Dr. Lois Malcolm and Dr. Leon Rodrigues) and on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 1 p.m.–2 p.m. (facilitators Dr. Ken Reynhout and Dr. Lois Malcolm).
Students: see email for Zoom link.

TIME CHANGE: Christmas Treats, Coffee, Tea, and Cocoa
The Employee Engagement Team invites sudents, faculty and staff to gather over coffee, tea, or hot cocoa with a side of your favorite Christmas treat. Please bring along one or two dozen of your favorite treats to make this time of year and drop them in BH 116 between 10–noon on Wednesday, December 14.
Then, please feel free to come and go as you are able between 12:00–1:30 p.m. as we gather before our Christmas/New Year Break.
We would like to thank you all for your flexibility with the time changes. We wanted to find the best time so that everyone could come and enjoy the event. We hope to see you there!
