January Intensive Events Schedule and FAQ
Here is the January Intensive Events Schedule and the Intensive FAQ document. There are many events planned for the community during the intensives, and we look forward to seeing many of you in person during the intensives!
Seminary Relations Staffing Updates
The Seminary Relations team has several staffing updates to share.
First, Lisa Cohen will join the Seminary Relations team as a philanthropic advisor on Monday, January 9. Lisa worked for Luther 2006-16, filling several professional fundraising positions in direct response, annual fund, and major gifts. She moved to Ohio in 2016 following an exciting job offer for her husband. They recently relocated back to the Twin Cities, and she is excited to return to our mission.
Second, please join me in congratulating our colleague Jake Hennes who has been promoted to our second PA position. Jake has been a member of the Seminary Relations team for five years. As director of development, he has provided strategic oversight of the sustaining fund, alumni relations and donor events. In his first three years, he doubled the sustaining fund and then took on a small major gift portfolio and produced similar results.
I know I can count on the entire community to welcome Lisa back and congratulate Jake on his new role.
Finally, Bethany Reithmeier recently notified the seminary of her resignation, with her last day being Tuesday, January 3. Bethany joined the Seminary Relations team as donor engagement coordinator in 2019. In this role, she has faithfully supported donor events, digital fundraising efforts, donor relations, and God Pause. We all wish Bethany well on her next professional adventure and give thanks for the ways in which she has supported our mission over the past three years.
We will post our donor engagement coordinator position immediately. Please do share this opportunity with your professional networks. Please contact Heidi Droegemueller will questions.
Duo Mobile and New Phones
The holiday season is a time for gifts and often those gifts are new phones. When moving to a new phone, ensuring your Duo Mobile is working will be important as Duo Mobile is required to access online services like email and moodle. You could be unable to access these online services until your Duo Mobile is re-setup.
Here’s some tips for a smooth phone transition:
1) Use the iCloud backup and restore feature of your iPhone when moving your phone apps and data to a new iPhone. Tutorial
This will likely ensure Duo Mobile will still be registered in your new phone. This assumes your phone number is staying the same. Android phones may not transfer automatically.
2) If you run into trouble and still have your old phone, you can enroll your new phone at https://duo.luthersem.edu. Keep in mind you will need to use your old phone to approve your login in order to enroll the new phone. Keep your old phone on WiFi to receive the Duo prompt.
3) Set up Duo Restore in the Duo Mobile app by following these directions.
You can always contact the Help Desk for help. With the seminary closed over the holiday break, responses will be delayed.
