The New Student Engagement Team welcome you to Luther Seminary! We’re made up of Luther Seminary Admissions, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, Office of Technology staff and student workers. We’re eager to greet you and welcome you to this community of learning and growth as you prepare for the vocation to which God is calling you.
In the new year, we’ll begin checking in regularly with information, invitations to connect, and resources to help you prepare for seminary. You can email your pre-enrollment questions to newstudents@luthersem.edu and we’ll make sure to connect you with the right person as you become acquainted with the wider Luther Seminary community.
Check out the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for the most common questions new students ask (with answers!) – we’ll continue to update this throughout the spring and summer as new information is made available.
We know you have and will have lots of questions as we approach the Fall semester – that’s a good thing! We will make sure to communicate relevant information in a timely manner, so begin to check your Luther Seminary email on a regular basis for updates.
We continue to pray for you every day, eagerly anticipating your arrival and asking that the Holy Spirit strengthen you in this transitional time.

Orientation
Orientation is designed as a two-part online course. Part 1 is released in April and can be completed asynchronously at your convenience. Part 2 is a two-week online course prior to fall RFS which offers both asynchronous and synchronous sessions.
The course is organized by modules and is an introduction to Luther Seminary where you will learn about the academic requirements, technology, student life and resources, and build community with your incoming student peers. You will explore web pages, watch videos, post in discussion forums, upload documents, and fill out forms and surveys. There will also be opportunities to connect via live Zoom calls and workshops. You can expect about a 10 hour, self-paced commitment for part 1, followed by various scheduled Zoom sessions in part 2.
We encourage all new students to join us in getting to know the campus, community, and other incoming students.
