Join Doug Dockter of the Order of Lutheran Franciscans on Thursday, October 30, during Lunch Church for a brief introduction to Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi and the vows and ministry of the Order of Lutheran Franciscans. After answering your questions, we proceed to a short blessing of the animals. Bring photos of the animals in your life that you want blessed. If you plan to bring your pet to campus, to arrive at 11:30 and we will hold a blessing ceremony outside (or in the OCC lobby if weather is inhospitable).

Please join the Admissions Office in welcoming (back) Erica Dolmar, who will be serving as a temporary Application Coordinator while a staff member is on parental leave. Erica will focus on maintaining the critical day-to-day flow of the admissions process, specifically related to applicant records, application processing, and immediate applicant communication. Students, staff, and faculty are invited to join the Future Space Working Group for an engaging Lunch & Learn on Wednesday, October 29 from noon to 1 p.m. CT. This hybrid event will take place in OCC 10, and participants can also join us on Zoom. During September, the architectural firm RSP conducted a series of insightful visioning sessions with our community members—students, staff, and faculty—to gather ideas and aspirations for our future space. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the discoveries made and the exciting next steps ahead! Our panel will feature participants from the visioning sessions, including Professor Kathryn Schifferdecker, Student Council President Jack Hendricks, and Librarian Peter Watters. Join Ashley Wheeler, associate director of candidacy and vocational formation, and Deacon Krista Anderson, Region 3 candidacy and leadership manager and program director for the support of ministers of word and service, for an information session on candidacy on Wednesday, October 29, 12:30-1:30 p.m. We will walk through the different aspects of candidacy and how to prepare for next steps and will answer any questions you might have. This is recommended for any ELCA students who are entranced or in the process of entrance as well as anyone in discernment on rostered ministry with the ELCA. This will be a hybrid event.
