Merle Brockhoff ’85 M.Div writes about how God’s call often is less about “flash and drama” than it is about our willingness to listen. Read today’s God Pause.

“Why Jesus” Talk This Wednesday
The Luther Seminary community is invited to the second in our spring series of “Why Jesus” talks. Adwoa Lewis-Wilson, an MDivX student from Cohort 2, will be sharing her story of faith, and answering the questions: “Why am I a Christian?” and “What difference does Jesus make in my life?”
“Why Jesus” is a series initiated by Luther Seminary faculty, staff, and students in 2019. It was interrupted by the pandemic but has resumed this spring. It seeks to model the Christian practice of testimony, sharing our personal stories of faith in order to encourage one another in Christian discipleship.
Adwoa will be speaking after chapel at noon this Wednesday, April 27, downstairs in the Olson Campus Center (OCC)- Room 10. There is a community meal that day, so participants are encouraged to get their meal and bring it downstairs. For those who cannot attend in person, please join with the Zoom link on this Google doc. You will need to be logged into your Luther account to access it.
Student Cybersecurity Awareness Training Available
In the current global climate we need to be extra alert to phishing attacks and scams. President Biden’s recent statement on cybersecurity underscores the need to be alert and aware.
To help with phishing awareness we’ve made a cybersecurity training course available to students in Moodle (it will be on the main course dashboard). I invite students to go through this short course and take the quiz at the end.
Everyone who has a login to the Luther Seminary network has a role to play to keep our digital campus secure. Phishers are not always interested in you or your information. They’re often interested in using your login and email account to phish other people at the seminary who have access to valuable personal information.
Completing the course earns you badge in Moodle. At 3 p.m. May 27 we’ll give one random person who earned the badge a set of Apple Airpods. Winner will be notified by email.
