Seminary-Wide Practice for Lent
Academic Dean Joy J. Moore and Seminary Pastor Jeni Grangaard invite you into prayer, lament, and, we hope, transformation.
Soon you will receive an envelope from Luther Seminary. In it you will find a letter with instructions, another envelope, and a wood square.
For now: You are being asked to take time to pray and name the pain that prevents you from embracing and entering this community. Just one word. No names. But something you are holding onto. Write that on the wood square and send that in the envelope addressed to Luther. Please note this is anonymous and confidential.
We will display the squares throughout the season of Lent, and then we will ask God to transform us by God’s grace and remove the burden we bear individually and collectively.
There are more instructions to come about what to do with the extra envelope. Hold onto it and keep it where you can see it.
Please see this video and look for the chapel video from this week (posted on Luther’s YouTube by Monday).

Inter-Religious Learning Discussion Group
Join The Interns, a new student group, in discussing learning how to lead congregations and groups in inter-religious learning and dialogue. We’ll meet at noon Central on Wednesdays, February 24 through May 26, and will be discussing “Interreligious Learning and Teaching: A Christian Rationale for a Transformative Praxis” by Dr. Kristin Largen.
