Ronald Belvin grew up in Minneapolis and has worked in the funeral industry for many years. He is a residential M.Div. student at Luther and provides consulting services to churches and other nonprofits.

Kendah Ward is an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal tradition who enrolled at Luther to learn more about the triune God, study scripture and theology more deeply, and engage with different traditions and theological voices.

David Steenhoek is in the M.Div. program at Luther Seminary and was drawn into pastoral discernment through conversations with other pastors and chaplains. He is a distributed learner who appreciates Luther’s curricular flexibility.

Maggie Keller taught literature in Nigeria and helped start a ministry called The Table in Minneapolis. She began in Luther’s graduate certificate program, transferred into the M.Div. program, and is discerning her call to chaplaincy or pastoral ministry.

Terra Lumley is an M.Div. student at Luther Seminary who applied to Luther and entered candidacy because of the pastor shortage in rural Wisconsin. She also works for Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity as a construction supervisor and has been building homes with that organization for nearly 3 decades.

Karin Selland is an M.Div. student at Luther discerning a call either to congregational ministry or to chaplaincy. She loves working in intergenerational contexts and is grateful for the way Luther’s faculty balances academic rigor with a deep care for students.

Children, Youth, and Family Graduates Recognized for Scholarship
Recent Luther Seminary graduates Phil Silva and Grace Zauche have received the Children, Youth, and Family Ministry Prize for their scholarly work. Phil was recognized for his paper “Children and Youth in the New Information Ecosystem” and Grace for her paper “Young Adults and ELCA Summer Camp: A Blueprint for Loving Your Neighbor.”
