We will celebrate Reformation Day in Chapel this Wednesday. Wear something red. Many of our students who love the ELW liturgical tradition have pulled out the stops to plan a service that celebrates the Reformation with processionals, sung liturgy, and all organ-led music.
Dr. Mark Tranvik, Professor of Reformation History and Theology, will continue our eight-week fall series by preaching from Genesis 12:1-5. God called Abram to leave his family and go to a place that God would reveal to him. What does this familiar call story have to say to us in this moment of our Seminary’s story and in the unfolding world events around us?
We have three spaces this week where we can gather around this text and bring our joys and fears to God.
Tuesday
We will read the text and enter contemplative practice. I invite you to join us in the OCC meditation chapel or on Zoom to sit in centering prayer or contemplative sketching as we soak in the text for the week.
Wednesday
Presider: Pastor Yelerubi Birgamus, PhD student. Preacher: Dr. Mark Tranvik, Professor of Reformation History and Theology. We will celebrate Holy Communion and enjoy fellowship in the Chapel Cafe. Join us in the Chapel of the Incarnation or on YouTube.
Thursday
Join together for Lunch Church in the Dining Room. This is in-person only. Chapel Staff will lead us in a simple communal reflection on the text this week.
