We come to the fourth and final week of Advent. This week we celebrate love and life. Two pregnant women meet and rejoice in the life that is growing in their wombs. Elizabeth’s child reminds us of the matriarch Sarah and her son Isaac, when God gave a child to a woman in her old age. Mary’s child reminds us that God can bring life out of nothing, through the Spirit, just like God did in the first verses of Genesis. Mary sings to God and reminds us that God’s love is for all people, bringing down the arrogant oppressors and uplifting the humbled and oppressed.

Light the fourth candle this week and rejoice in the love and life that comes from God.
A Break from our Community Spiritual Practices
In honor of our Christmas break, we will give the Chapel Staff some time off. There will be no communal spiritual practices from December 16 to January 3. We look forward to kicking off the New Year with our first gathering for RFS in the Chapel of the Incarnation on Saturday, January 4, at 11:00 a.m. Join us in person or on our YouTube Channel.
Have a blessed final week of Advent, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
