The texts from the Revised Common Lectionary and the Narrative Lectionary this week talk about a prophet who would prepare the way for the coming Messiah. That is the spirit of Advent. We are invited to prepare the way in our lives and our relationships for a rebirth of light. My prayer for you this week is that you will be able to find some time to slow down, breathe deeply, declutter, and be able to focus on the things that really matter in this world: love, justice, peace, and seeking the mutual flourishing of all things.
