Circle Practice: Engaging with Aging Parents
Many of us are in the season of life where our parents’ life circumstances are ever-changing and can be challenging for us as adult children. Mary Hess and Jody Nyenhuis will co-facilitate this gathering in the Meditation Chapel from 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9. Please come and share this sacred space for conversation and deep listening with one another.

Join us on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. for a Simple Service of Holy Communion. We gather in the Chapel of the Incarnation for confession, scripture, prayer, and sharing the bread and wine around the table. It is a beautiful holy pause in the middle of the week. See you there!
God Pause for August 18: Isaiah 58

Seeking a Student Member for the Word & World Editorial Board
Are you interested in participating in Word & World as a student member of the Editorial Board? Word & World is the quarterly journal of theology for Christian ministry published by the faculty of the seminary. Its work is guided by the staff and an Editorial Board made up of seven members of the Luther faculty and two students. The students are full voting members of the board. One student position is open for the 2025–2026 academic year, starting September 1, 2025. Membership on the board is voluntary and unsalaried, but students do get the opportunity to participate in the life of a significant theological journal. Duties include regular attendance at board meetings (two or three per year) and thoughtful contribution to the board’s work, including bringing ideas for issues and authors. All students, in any program, are eligible. If you would like to be a student board member for 2025–2026, please reply both to Jennifer Pietz (board chair, jpietz002@luthersem.edu) and Mark Granquist (editor, mgranquist001@luthersem.edu) with a note that describes your interest in the position, your availability to serve, and your qualifications. Include your year, program, and anticipated graduation date. To be considered, these must be received by Friday, August 22, 2025. Let us know, too, if you have further questions.
