Hwy 280 Opening Today
From the MN Department of Transportation:
Great news! Hwy 280 will reopen in both directions Friday morning, Aug. 21. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this closure as crews worked quickly and safely.
Work during and after the State Fair
There will be no significant work on Hwy 280, or any ramp or lane closures during the State Fair. After the State Fair, we will limit traffic impacts to short-term lane and ramp closures through the fall. Hwy 280 will remain open to traffic and will not be fully closed again this fall.
Continue to drive with caution through the area
As traffic returns to Hwy 280 and traffic signals at cross streets, including Larpenteur Ave., are turned back on, please be vigilant at signals and stop signs — especially at the Como Ave. exit and entrance ramps on Eustis St. and Hunting Valley Rd. — to help keep everyone safe.
We appreciate your patience while we make these improvements. Visit 511mn.org or download the free 511MN app for real-time traffic and travel information.

A dessert reception will follow. Nationally-recognized and award-winning quilter and historian Tamara Carter, along with her husband and co-presenter Joe Gaines (of the Choctaw Nation), will share quilts inspired by Indigenous American history, culture, and lifeways in an educational and inspirational program. Bockman Tank Removal Parking Request
Next Monday (8/24), we expect to begin the process of removing two fuel tanks from behind Bockman Hall. This will occur directly in front of the north exit and also between the central and east wings. As a result, we are requesting that—next week—everyone move their cars to the west lot of the OCC and the westernmost side of the Bockman lot. This will allow the contractors to set up the crane needed for this project. —Facilities and Operations
