Course Registration: Clearing Holds

Posted on October 21, 2024

Students, with winter registration approaching, we wanted to provide some tips for planning your classes. Do you know about registration holds? A student may have a registration hold placed on their account for a number of reasons. This will prevent them from being able to register for courses.  It is the student’s responsibility to clear the hold with the office that placed it.

To find any holds, login to MyLutherNet and click on the Registration tab. In the View Course section, under Add/Drop Courses, you will see the hold in a box with a red Alert message.

If you click on Add/Drop Courses, you will get an expanded message about the holds you have and how to clear them.

Holds are placed on registrations for the following reasons:

  • Admissions Hold (email Admissions Office)
  • Advising Hold (MA/MDIV/Cert) – (email Advising Office)
  • Advising Hold (DMIN/PhD/ThM) – (email ATE Office)
  • AR Hold – Outstanding Business Office Accounts (email Business Office)
  • Candidacy Hold (email Contextual Learning Office)
  • Title IX Hold (email Title IX)
  • Writing Services Hold (contact the Writing Center)

Check your account today and allow yourself time to clear holds before registration opens!

Here’s Luther Seminary Library’s guide to Native American Heritage and Indigenous Religions of North America.

Course Registration: Academic Calendar

Posted on October 17, 2024

Students, with winter registration approaching we wanted to provide some tips for planning your classes. Did you know that there are several ways to view the Academic Calendar? Login to MyLutherNet and click on Academics and then Academic Calendar on the left hand side. You are presented with the traditional calendar view.

This is a google calendar that you can subscribe to by clicking the plus sign in the lower right corner. If you select Academic Calendar 2024-2025.pdf another view will appear that highlights key dates.

Finally, the alternate view includes less information and more white space but might be to your liking.
