Spots Open: Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico Travel Course

There are still spots available to join Guillermo Hansen’s June 17-30 travel course CD1640: Migrants, Indigenous Cultures, Intersectionality, and the Church (Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico). Time is running out, as we set February 27 as the deadline for submitting the $750 deposit required to register for the course. (Priority is given to students who are taking the course for credit.) The remainder of the travel expenses will be covered by the MLK Jr. Fund. Please spread the word and reach out to Ben McDonald Coltvet, bmcdonaldcoltve001@luthersem.edu, for details like the itinerary, payment instructions, and a link to the Zoom recording featuring conversation with church partners who will host the group in each country.

Meredith Miller Events at Westwood Lutheran

Join the community of Westwood Lutheran in Saint Louis Park for two events with Meredith Miller, author of ‘Woven: Nurturing a Faith Your Kid Doesn’t Have to Heal From’ and ‘Wonder: 52 Conversations to Help Kids Fall in Love with Scripture.’ Meredith’s conversational approach to faith formation emphasizes the importance of kids getting to know who God is rather than obeying a God they do not yet have a relationship with. Visit Dale Dobias’s Art Exhibit “Re: assembled — An Offering”

United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cites is hosting an exhibit by Dale Dobias, our director of Library Services, titled “Re: assembled—An Offering.” The exhibit is available for viewing in the center of United’s campus (767 Eustis St., Suite 140, Saint Paul) from January 12 through February 13, with a closing reception from 4-6 p.m. at UTS on Friday, February 13. All are welcome! If you plan to attend the closing reception, you are encouraged to register online.

Service of Holy Communion—Transfiguration Day [Hybrid]

We gather at 11:00 a.m. CT in the Chapel of the Incarnation and online* for worship. Join us for a Service of Holy Communion celebrating Transfiguration Day with preacher Rolf Jacobson, (Dean of the Faculty), presider Stanley Ayashim (Residential Life Program Coordinator) and musicians Erin DeBoer-Moran (Director of Music), Josh Eidem (M.Div. student) Karin Selland (MDiv student) and the seminary choir directed by Carolina Bowen (MDiv student).
*For those joining via livestream: Worship will be guided by a powerpoint embedded in the youtube video. Any hymns from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW) hymnal will be presented by hymn number only—you may want to have a copy of ELW accessible. Share your prayer requests.
