Join us Wednesday, May 6 at 12 p.m. for lunch with the Golden Reunion attendees! Alumni from the class of 1976 will be on campus for their 50th reunion. This lunch is a great chance for the Luther campus community to connect with alumni. Due to the Golden Reunion taking place on campus, we will have an influx of people and cars. To accommodate this group visiting for their reunion, we ask that you leave the campus lots open, and park on the street if you are able. Thank you!

God Pause for April 29: 1 Peter 2
In this devotion, Melissa Pickering ’22 M.Div., says that our purpose, as part of the “royal priesthood,” isn’t to boast but to live a life that reflects God’s mercy and light. Read today’s God Pause.

We gather at 11 a.m. CT in the Chapel of the Incarnation for a service of Holy Communion led by Dean of the Chapel Steve Thomason. The service will be contemplative, with candles, prayer, and quiet meditation. The service will be livestreamed. Share your prayer requests.
*For those joining via livestream: Worship will be guided by a powerpoint embedded in the youtube video. Any hymns from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship Hymnal (ELW) will be presented by hymn number only and you may want to have a copy of the ELW accessible during worship.
TODAY: Campus Fire Drill [In-Person]
As part of our ongoing commitment to campus safety, Luther Seminary will be conducting a scheduled fire drill affecting the following buildings: Olson Campus Center (OCC), Bockman Hall, Gullixson Hall. The drill will take place on Wednesday, April 29 at 1 p.m. When the fire alarm sounds, all students, faculty, staff, and visitors are required to exit the buildings promptly, calmly, and in an orderly manner. Please follow all posted exit signs and instructions from safety personnel. Use only stairwells as elevators are disabled during emergencies. After exiting, proceed to the southernmost point of campus near the Luther Seminary sign on Como Avenue (see map below). If you are exiting from the Olson Campus Center, use the walkway to the west, routed around Bockman Hall, to maintain a safe distance in the event of an emergency affecting that building. This drill is an important opportunity for our community to practice emergency preparedness procedures. Thank you for your cooperation and attentiveness in helping ensure the safety of all members of the Luther Seminary community.

Seeking Student Members for Word & World Editorial Board
Interested in participating in Word & World as a student member of the editorial board? Word & World is the quarterly journal of Theology for Christian Ministry published by the faculty of the seminary. Its work is guided by the staff and an editorial board made up of seven members of the Luther faculty and two students. The students are full voting members of the board. Two student positions are open for the 2026–2027 academic year, starting September 1, 2026. Membership on the board is voluntary and unsalaried, but students do get the opportunity to participate in the life of a significant theological journal. Duties include regular attendance at board meetings (perhaps two or three per year) and thoughtful contribution to the board’s work, including bringing ideas for issues and authors. All students, in any program, are eligible. If you would like to be a student board member for 2026–2027, reply both to Jennifer Pietz, board chair (jpietz002@luthersem.edu) and Mark Granquist, editor (mgranquist001@luthersem.edu) with a note that spells out your interest in the position, your qualifications, and your availability to attend meetings on campus during regular business hours on weekdays (in-person attendance is greatly preferred). Include also your year, program, and anticipated graduation date. To be considered, your statement of interest must be received by Friday, May 8, 2026. Let us know if you have any questions.
