Students: Get Ready for Spring 2026 RFS

Students, Spring RFS 1 (February 27-March 1) and RFS 2 (March 4-6) are both on campus at Luther Seminary. As you make final preparations for travel and learning, please review these reminders and resources:

* Any student who hasn’t yet booked a hotel should contact the hotels directly to verify availability. We have arranged shuttles with Doubletree-Roseville and Fairfield-Mendota Heights. Students are welcome to stay elsewhere but will need to arrange their own transportation. Students attending the Tuesday night soup dinner will need to arrange their own transportation.
* Seminary ID cards can be made for you ahead of RFS. Email a request (with headshot attached) to Peter Susag (psusag001@luthersem.edu) before Wednesday, February 25.

Future Space Working Group Lunch & Learn [Hybrid]

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to join the Future Space Working Group for an engaging Lunch & Learn on Wednesday, February 25 from noon to 1 p.m. CT. This hybrid event will take place in OCC 10 and on Zoom (link in email). Our Future Space Working Group and other staff, faculty, and students they’ve engaged have been meeting, thinking, and gathering data as well as conducting professional studies and assessments. What ideas and aspirations for our future space have been gathered? Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about the discoveries they are making and potential next steps. Bring your lunch and your questions. A recording of the event will be distributed after the event.

Virtual Vespers in Lent [Hybrid]

Let’s gather on Zoom on Tuesday evenings during Lent. It begins on Tuesday, February 24 at 7 p.m. CT. Pastor Steve will host a simple time where we will check in with each other, read scripture, pray, and reflect on our Lenten theme: Encounter. We’ll begin at 7 p.m. and finish by 7:45. The Zoom link is on the LS Community shared Google calendar and shared in daily emails.

Cultivating Church in Everday Life with Dave Male

If you have not yet registered for a spring term course, consider CL 4532 Cultivating Church in Everyday Life. Dave Male, the instructor for this course, is a respected church leader in England and a pioneer in the UK’s Fresh Expressions movement. Register for credit or audit during spring RFS 2.

Service of Holy Communion in the Chapel of the Incarnation and livestreamed. Lois Malcolm, professor of Systematic Theology, will be preaching. Come explore our Lenten theme—Encounter with Christ—when Jesus encounters Satan in the wilderness.

Lunch Church in the OCC Dining Room. We will continue creating our Lenten community art project. Come eat lunch and add to our sanctuary banner in a creative way.
