Karl Barth’s Prayer for Election Day

Posted on November 2, 2026

This particular election has been marked by much fear, anxiety, and uncertainty. May we find peace in the goodness and love of God for humanity today and be comforted by a prayer from theologian Karl Barth, shared on the library’s brief Karl Barth bibliography.

Global Agape Feast and Cultural Display

Posted on November 2, 2026

Join us Thursday, November 12 from 3–6 p.m. in OCC Dining Room A for our annual Global Agape Feast and Cultural Display at Luther Seminary. Welcome to a celebration of unity, diversity, and community. The Agape Feast includes a shared meal, fellowship, and wonderful conversations celebrating our diverse backgrounds. To make the experience even more vibrant, the suggested attire for this event is traditional cultural attire based on the cultures you represent. The ongoing Cultural Display is a showcase of the rich cultures represented on our campus, from domestic to international students, each carrying unique and beautiful stories to share. The Cultural Display is located in Bockman Hall Room 116 and will be open November 12–19. Visit the display to explore exhibits highlighting the vibrant heritages and stories of our campus community.

Diaconal History Course Opportunity

Posted on November 2, 2026

As you register for winter classes, consider the travel course HC4337 Diaconal Ministry. Costs for student attendance are substantially underwritten by the deaconess community of the ELCA for all students registering for the course (grants are for all students, not only those in candidacy or those exploring the ELCA deaconess community). Participants in the course may choose one of the following two grant options: (1) tuition for course credit or course audit (deaconess community pays Luther Seminary or participant’s home seminary cost of course tuition directly), or (2) reimbursement of travel assistance, housing, and food costs at retreat center for in-person component (all double-occupancy housing and food costs are covered, travel reimbursed up to $600). For more information, contact Sister Dottie Almoney, dottie.almoney@elca.org, Directing Deaconess of the ELCA.
