TOMORROW: ABIDE Retreat [In-Person]
Tuesday, June 9, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
OCC Dining Room
All are welcome to join this on-campus retreat for a time of learning more about Luther Seminary’s approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion called ABIDE—centered around our common commitments of accountability, belonging, inclusion, diversity, and equity. We will listen carefully to one another, celebrate the great work happening in our community, and spend time refocusing and reenergizing this work. This retreat is for those who have been engaged in ABIDE work to reconnect with one another as well as an opportunity for those new to this kind of work to engage the community’s approach. Direct any questions you might have to: abide@luthersem.edu. Snacks and lunch will be provided. Register here (with your seminary email) if you plan to attend so we can ensure adequate space and refreshments for all. The deadline to register is Monday, June 1.

June “Brake Bread” Events [In-Person]
In June we will have two Brake Bread community gatherings!
- Brake Bread and Porch Worship during June RFS. Join us for a celebration around bread, worship, music, and community on Friday, June 12, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. We’ll gather in front of Bockman Hall for an outdoor meal (options provided for those with varying dietary needs), drinks, dessert, and worship. If it rains, we’ll move into the OCC Dining Room.
- Final “Brake Bread” Community Gathering. On Wednesday, June 17 in Old Muskego Church from 10-11 a.m., start your morning with our final “Brake Bread” event, where we gather around bread, jam, and coffee while building deeper community connections and celebrating a particular campus space—this time in the Old Muskego Church.
Supported by an Endowment Lab Grant from Thrivent, these “Brake Bread” gatherings are intentional moments to build relationships, listen to one another, laugh together, and celebrate the good work and learning being done among us. Please join us in this holy space to love one another more deeply in a time of uncertainty. If you have questions, email Emily Rova-Hegener in Contextual Learning, erovahegener001@luthersem.edu.
