Summer Hours

Posted on June 11, 2025

Summer hours help employees create lengthened weekends by working shortened lunch breaks, thus freeing up 2½ hours on Friday afternoon to use as desired. An employee’s summer hours plan needs to be developed directly with and approved by their supervisor to ensure consistent service for constituents. Summer hours run from June 2 through August 29. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, with a one-half hour lunch break. See the Staff Handbook for more information.

Giving Gratitude for Patty Horazdovsky

Posted on June 10, 2025

Competent. Caring. Consistent. These are only a few of the many words to describe our wonderful colleague Patty Horazdovsky, who has served in the Admissions Office for eight years. After thoughtful discernment, Patty has decided to retire and is excited to spend more time with her family and to serve her local church and community in a variety of capacities. Patty’s contributions and professionalism cannot be understated, and she will be missed dearly by her colleagues and the hundreds of applicants and students she has accompanied throughout the years. With patience, humility, and an unmatched work ethic, Patty has faithfully dedicated herself to the work of customer service, database management, application processing, and documentation. Above all, Patty has been a gentle but fierce advocate for applicants, going above and beyond to work behind the scenes to help applicants complete their applications in time and have the best chance at success. Please join the Admissions Office in giving thanks for our colleague and friend! If you would like to share a blessing or gratitude for Patty, you can send your cards and notes to Jessi by hand to OCC 100 or by email, jleclearvachta002@luthersem.edu, who will collect them for Patty—please send or deliver these by June 11. Patty’s last day will be Monday, June 23.
