New Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Requirement for Rippling

Posted on June 3, 2025

Rippling now requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all users. MFA provides an added layer of security by requiring a second form of verification—something only you have—when signing in. This significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access to your Rippling account, even if your password is compromised. Your Rippling account contains highly sensitive information including your personal details, payroll data, and direct deposit banking information. Using Duo Mobile for MFA helps ensure that only you can access this information, keeping your identity and finances secure.
– What to Expect. The next time you sign in to Rippling, you will be prompted to set up MFA. We recommend using the Duo Mobile app to complete this process. Instructions for adding Rippling as an account in your Duo Mobile MFA app can be accessed here.
– Going Forward. Each time you log in to Rippling, you’ll be asked to enter the current 6-digit code from the Duo Mobile app to verify your identity.
For assistance setting up multi-factor authentication for your Rippling account, contact helpdesk@luthersem.edu.
