Join Dr. Sanders in a “Course Design Lab” October 30 at 9:00 a.m.
As I’m developing the upcoming spring offering of Congregational Care and Formation, I’d love to have some imaginative conversation with students on the course design. Whether you’ve already taken the course, will take it in the spring, or will take it sometime in the future, I’d love for you to participate in this “design lab” to think alongside me about the elements of the course (readings, topics, questions, assignments) in ways that will help shape it into what I hope will be a useful, impactful, and transformative course of the future of your ministry. Meet in the Bockman 116 community room, or you can join via Zoom on Monday, Oct. 30 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Light refreshments provided.
The Legacy of Racial Covenants: The Enduring Impact on Twin Cities Area Housing
You are invited to this Free Event on Saturday, November 18, from 3–5 p.m. here at Luther Seminary in the Olson Campus Center. The Community Conversations project will share the status of such covenants, the negative impact they have on communities today, and what’s being done to address these issues. Hear from the University of Minnesota’s ‘Mapping Prejudice’ and St. Catherine’s ‘Welcoming Dear Neighbor?’ projects to learn what’s happening across the Twin Cities. Please register for this free event on November 18.
Self-Identification Form for Student Council
Students, please use this form so Student Council can properly provide the Specific Representatives (International Students, BIPOC, Ecumenical, and LGBTQIA+) their constituents. The only person that will see your name and how you identify is Student Council Secretary, Ashley Teter, who will then pass your name along to the proper representative. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Ashley at ateter001@luthersem.edu.
Call for Concord Submissions
The Concord is looking for submissions—we accept pieces that emphasize the diversity and community of Luther’s student body. This can include interest stories about your community, a day in the life, listicles of what you’re loving right now, book reviews, or even what you wish you knew before you applied/started CPE/started your internship. For questions or if you’re interested in helping edit, please email Emelie Clements eclements001@luthersem.edu!
