60th Anniversary Concert Commemorating March on Washington Choir Information & Sign-Up
Volunteers need to join a choir on Monday, August 28, 2023 for a commemorative procession and concert curated by G. Phillip Shoultz, III, Associate Artistic Director of VocalEssence. We are looking for 75-100 volunteer singers to join a community choir from around the Twin Cities metro to mark the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.
Featuring Jovonta Patton, Joe Davis & the Poetic Diaspora, Threads Dance Project, Thomasina Petrus, and rising local spoken word artist Eshay Brantley, the coalition of choirs will join these artists in their music and additional musical numbers as we remember the past, ground ourselves in the present, and look to the future.
