Sign up to be a New Student Peer Summer-Fall 2023
Last year the New Student Engagement Team developed New Student Peers as a program to help incoming students become more acclimated to Luther before their first semester began.
As a New Student Peer, you get to build relationships with 4-6 new students before they step foot on campus or begin their coursework by checking in with them 1-2 times a month for Fall Semester. Training and peer-matching will begin in mid-July

The oral examination is a public event open to faculty, students, and staff; however, other than the candidate, only faculty members have speaking privileges.
What is a Ph.D. oral defense? The oral defense is the final step before graduation for Ph.D. degree candidates. The student has finished all research and is presenting a thesis that is an original contribution to the field of scholarship. A copy of the completed thesis is available prior to the defense for those in the Luther Seminary community.

Beloved Coffee Hour
In the spirit of a Beloved Community all are welcome to attend a coffee hour gathering at Luther OCC Coffee Area on May 16, 2023, 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. The purpose is to provide a safe space for fellowship with community members who will also participate in table talk discussion, image reflection, conversation, and light refreshments.
A beloved community is a welcoming community that is filled with compassion, acceptance, and freedom. “Put on therefore, as God’s elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering; 13 forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as [a]the Lord forgave you, so also do ye” (Colossians 3:12-13).
