Welcome Corrie Patrick to Seminary Relations
Please welcome Corrie Patrick, who joins the Seminary Relations team on Monday, September 8 in the newly created data manager role. Corrie’s office will be located in BH213. One item to note as you’re introducing yourself to Corrie. Please note how her name is pronounced. Per Corrie, “it’s pronounced “Car-ee”—rhymes with “sorry”—not “Core-ee.” Here is a short bio on Corrie: “I grew up in South Carolina but have made Minnesota my home for over 20 years. I live in South Minneapolis with my husband, two sons, and a tortoise. I’ve been in the nonprofit fund development field for over 20 years as well, most recently at the Minnesota JCC. When I’m not chauffeuring my kids around, I like to read, see art and live music, go to Timberwolves games, and spend time with my neighbors.” Corrie initially will be focused on our gift and record entry and receipt processes. I will remain the point person for data exports and reports. Please welcome Corrie to Luther Seminary!
Author Talk with Isaac Villegas, Author of Migrant God – September 8
Isaac Villegas, author of Migrant God—the ABIDE summer book read—will join the seminary community via Zoom on Monday, September 8 at 12 p.m. CT. Whether or not you are in an ABIDE book group, you are welcome to join in person in OCC 10 (bring your own lunch) or via Zoom (link in email). We hope you’ll join in this important discussion of current immigration concerns in light of Christian faith praxis.
Stewardship to Go – Free Access
Looking for an impactful stewardship program that is theologically grounded and easy to implement? Grace Pomroy, director of the Stewardship Leaders Program at Luther Seminary, has partnered with Church Anew to create Stewardship to Go, and all Luther students get free access. Use the code STEWARDSHIPGIFT to get free access to this year’s resource and the past two years’ resources. If you are in a context that uses the lectionary, that means you’ll have a stewardship resource for every year! Whether you use them this year or not, these are great resources to download for future use: You Have Heard it Said (vol 1), The Impossible Promise of Enough (vol 2), and What We Can Do (vol 3). Have questions? Email Grace Pomroy at gpomroy001@luthersem.edu.
