We are pleased to share that Nick Jacobsen has accepted the position of Lead Groundskeeper at Luther Seminary. Nick has been part of our community for several years, working seasonally with the grounds team. During that time, he has demonstrated exceptional dedication and care for our campus, helping to ensure that our shared spaces remain beautiful, safe, and welcoming for everyone. In his new full-time role, Nick will oversee the maintenance and improvement of our grounds, supporting Luther Seminary’s commitment to hospitality, stewardship, and campus care. He will also take on an important leadership role in coaching and mentoring student workers. By working closely with students, Nick will help them develop practical skills, teamwork, and a sense of shared responsibility for the seminary’s environment. Facilities Manager Promotion
As part of our reorganization of the Operations and Technology team, Shawn Zimmer has been promoted to Facilities Manager. This promotion recognizes Shawn’s outstanding skills, contributions, and dedication to our mission. Student Invitation to the Extravaganza
Luther Seminary is supporting students who would like to attend the 2026 ELCA Extravaganza. The Extravaganza is a four-day, in-person event for ELCA congregational leaders in children’s, youth, young adult, and outdoor ministries. The event is January 30-February 2, 2026 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Luther Seminary has some funds available to provide limited scholarships for students to attend this event. Scholarships will cover all or part of the registration depending upon the date registered. Note that hotel and travel costs are covered by the student. Sign up for the event on this spreadsheet and you will receive an email with instructions.
