Lutheran Campus Ministry-Twin Cities Seminary Intern
New and current Luther Seminary students are invited to apply for an internship with Lutheran Campus Ministry Twin Cities. The LCM Outreach intern works with current University of Minnesota student leaders to reach out and build relationships with students in Saint Paul, cultivates and leads a meaningful small group on the Saint Paul Campus, and learns from and contributes to the broader LCM-TC community. There are opportunities for further learning, growth, development, and travel depending on the desires and capacity of the person. The position is 10 hours a week and is paid. A 2-year commitment (Aug 15-May 15) is encouraged, and preference will be given to those who can make that commitment. The intern must be available on Wednesday nights during the academic year. Deadline to apply is July 31, and applicants will be interviewed on a rolling basis. Start date is flexible, ideally around August 15. Send questions and/or to apply send cover letter, resume, and references to pastorkate@umnlutheran.org.
Farmfest Learning Excursion
On Wednesday, August 6, join us to experience rural culture at Farmfest 2025 in Morgan, Minnesota. We will leave at 7 a.m. in a van from the seminary and arrive around 9:30. This is an opportunity to learn about the economics, politics, and lifestyle of rural and small-town people in this part of the midwest. This event is aimed at farmers in the region by its organizers. Thanks to generous donors, the cost to attend (transportation, tickets, meal) is covered.
- On the drive in and out of the city we will talk about the variety of crops, farming techniques, and communities as we travel. If you don’t know much about farming or small town Minnesota, there will be opportunities to ask questions and learn more.
- We will walk around and see farm machinery and other technology, agriculture companies and organizations, and demonstrations. The scale of these machines, their cost and technology will be interesting as we think about what it means for the future of rural communities and congregations.
- The event is set on the historic Gilfillan Farm of Morgan, Minnesota. We hope to have a local pastor join us for part of the day to talk about rural and small town ministry.
- There are food booths to purchase meals inside for lunch.
Please sign up on this form to indicate your interest and/or your intent to join us. If you are able to drive, indicate that too. Questions? Email Jon Anderson, Director of Rural Ministries, at janderson008@luthersem.edu.
