In this devotion, Kurt Keljo ’81 M.Div., ponders just how unexpected—even mind blowing—God’s forgiveness is and that what makes our God holy is God’s forgiveness, not God’s vengeance.

Ice Cream Treats – September 14
The Luther Seminary RIC Advocacy Committee is hosting ice cream treats on September 14—the Sunday of RFS 1—just after class. Stop by the OCC patio and share some ice cream and conversation with other students, faculty, and staff. Dairy-free options available. Join us for a casual get-together and learn more about what we do to help Luther Seminary live into the ABIDE statement.
Headshots and ID Cards
The free headshot sessions being offered during Fall 2025 RFS are not required but are an opportunity to have professional headshots done at no cost to you. One of these image could be used on your ID card, but the process of using an image from your headshot session on your ID card could take up to a few weeks. If you need a Luther Seminary ID card during your time on campus for Fall RFS, please work directly with those procuring ID cards and do not wait for your professional headshots.
Seminary-Provided AI Tools Available
In order to provide access to AI tools for the Luther Seminary community, OT has licensed some commercial AI tools. This is commonly known as operating in a “walled garden,” where some privacy protections are in place (often free AI tools lack privacy controls). You should avoid free AI tools for seminary work. In this context, the privacy protections are the following:
– What you enter is not used to train the AI model.
– What you enter is not reviewed by people.
For more information, visit the Luther Seminary Provided AI Tools webpage. The seminary’s Academic Honesty policy gives guidance to students on use of AI in their coursework.
Calling All Singers – Drop-In Choir for Monday Worship
Do you love making a joyful noise and singing with your peers? All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to join the choir to sing at Monday’s chapel worship. We gathered in the chapel after chapel on Saturday for a brief rehearsal. If you were unable to attend, you are still welcome to sing on Monday. Contact student director Sarah Yotter, syotter001@luthersem.edu, with your voice part preference so we have an idea of who will be joining us. Everyone singing in the choir will gather at 10:40 a.m. on Monday to do a run-through with our chapel musician prior to the service.
Help for RFS Worship Services
Worship is central to our life as the Luther Seminary community. The chapel staff is looking for volunteers to help out with our communion services on Monday, September 15 (RFS 1) and Wednesday, September 17 (RFS 2). Use this form to let us know what you would like to do.
