Want to Be a New Student Peer?
The New Student Engagement Team is looking for current students to become New Student Peers. This volunteer position allows you to be a part of welcoming the new class of seminary students. As a new student peer, you will be responsible for:
- participating in a Zoom training session in late July or early August
- reaching out to new students 2-4 times during August
- a monthly check-in during fall semester to answer questions or point the students to someone who would have answers
- potentially taking students out for a coffee or a meal during RFS or early Fall Semester (reimbursed by admissions)
If you will be graduated by September 2025 or on leave from seminary during the 2025-26 school year, please do not fill out the form below. We’re hoping New Student Peers will be current students. Those on internship are welcome to participate. Fill out this online form by July 11 if you would like to be a New Student Peer. Questions? Email newstudents@luthersem.edu.
Independence Day Message from ISA
Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff of Luther Seminary,
On behalf of the International Students Association, we would like to extend our warmest wishes to the American community as you continue commemorations of Independence Day. July 4th marks the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, symbolizing the nation’s commitment to freedom, democracy, and self-governance. As international students, we appreciate the values and principles this day represents. We are grateful for the opportunity to study and live in the United States, where we can experience and learn from the country’s rich history and diverse culture. We join Luther Seminary in celebrating the spirit of independence and patriotism that defines this special day. We hope the fireworks, parades, and family gatherings served as a reminder of the importance of unity, freedom, and the pursuit of happiness. Thank you for allowing us to be part of this vibrant community. We wish everyone a joyous and reflective Independence Day weekend.
