Smithsonian Exhibit—Human Origins: What Does It Mean to Be Human?
Luther Seminary is excited to be one of six seminaries chosen to host the Smithsonian Institute’s touring exhibit on human origins during the Fall of 2025. The Luther community is encouraged to take advantage of the programmatic offerings that will be a part of this exciting opportunity to explore the relationship between science and theology using human evolution as a centerpiece. More information is forthcoming, but please plan to join us during Fall RFS, September 15-19, when the Smithsonian will offer various presentations connected to the exhibit. Students are also encouraged to consider taking part in a related fall course offered by Ken Reynhout entitled Homo Sapiens and God. This course will explore the theological challenges and opportunities presented by the science of human evolution. If you have questions about the course, reach out to Ken. Questions regarding the exhibit itself can be directed to Dale Dobias in the Library. And stay tuned for volunteer opportunities.
