Today, Wednesday, May 14, our service of Holy Communion will include a blessing and sending of interns, CPE students, sabbaticals, and new calls. If you fit in one of these categories, we would love for you to join us either in person or online for us to bless these next steps in your journey!
Paul Daniels Retirement Shindig
The library staff invites you to join us for a raucous celebration of Paul Daniels’ many years of service as Luther Seminary’s archivist and art collection curator. Paul officially retires at the end of June, and we want to send him off with as much ballyhoo as possible to thank him for gracing us with over 40 years of time, effort, excellence, and thoughtful presence. Expect the usual round of embarrassing accolades—he is a shy Norwegian, after all—along with plenty of festive decorations, balloons, assorted treats and party favors, and a special chocolate cake (involving sprinkles, no doubt). Your presence is requested in the library’s periodicals room on Thursday, May 22, 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
Faith-Inspired Literature in the Library
Looking for faith-inspired literature to provide a break from your studies? If you’re a lover of great fiction, be sure to check out Luther Seminary Library’s Online Guide to Literature and the Arts. We feature classic Christian authors from Dante Alighieri to Frederick Buechner, Flannery O’Connor, and Marilynne Robinson—with her new book “The Beauty of Souls“—and many more. With this guide, you will also find the latest books on art, culture, and film as they relate to Christian faith.
