Praying for Myanmar
Dear Luther Seminary Community,
On Friday, March 28, we learned of a devastating 7.7 Richter-scale earthquake in the country of Myanmar. Amidst the tremendous devastation, over 2000 people were reported dead or missing, while citizens used their bare hands to rescue trapped civilians. This is a very difficult time for the people of Myanmar, who are facing another huge trauma. Our Myanmar students have expressed deep sadness about the impact of this natural disaster on their country and its citizens. An additional impact is the loss of communication with family members and their congregations. I ask that pray for the people of Myanmar and that you share a word of encouragement with our students at this time. Peace and blessings,
—Leon Rodrigues, Dean of Students and Vice President for Inclusion and Belonging
