This is commonly known as operating in a &#8220;walled garden&#8221; where some privacy protections are in place. Often free AI tools lack privacy controls. You should avoid free AI tools for Seminary work. The table below lists the currently licensed AI tools and how to gain access to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this context, the privacy protections are the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>What you enter is not used to train the AI model.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>What you enter is not reviewed by people.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You should still follow the data guidelines noted below based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/inside.luthersem.edu\/technology\/policies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Data Classification and Protection Policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With any information you enter into AI tools, you should use strategies to anonymize it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Remove personal identifiers<\/strong>: names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, student ID numbers are examples.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Generalize details<\/strong>: For example, instead of entering a birth date, use an age range.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Use pseudonyms or aliases<\/strong>: Replace real names with fake names.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>Tool<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Google Gemini<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Purpose<\/strong><\/td><td>Gemini is an AI chatbot developed by Google, in the same class as ChatGPT or Copilot.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Access<\/strong><\/td><td>Available now.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Link<\/strong><\/td><td><a href=\"https:\/\/gemini.google.com\/app\">Google Gemini<\/a><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Data Allowed<\/strong><\/td><td>Approved for use with public and anonymized confidential data.
