But no worries! Just choose to Connect again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The VPN will connect &#8211; you\u2019re all set!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"passcodes\">Alternative Authentication Methods &#8211; Passcodes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Passcodes can be used to authenticate as well in the following scenarios: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Your normally use the Duo Mobile app push notifications but don&#8217;t have internet access<\/li><li>You are using a temporary passcode. Proceed to section B<\/li><li>You are using a hardware token to receive passcodes. Authenticate using a passcode<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>On your computer open Global Protect.&nbsp;<\/li><li>If your username and password are saved in Global Protect click the <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"22\" height=\"19\" class=\"wp-image-193\" style=\"width: 22px\" src=\"http:\/\/inside.luthersem.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/02\/remove-user-credentials.png\" alt=\"\">  <strong>Remove User Credentials<\/strong> button in the upper right corner, next to your username.<\/li><li>Click <strong>Connect<\/strong><\/li><li>Enter your username. In the password field enter your normal LutherSem password, followed by a comma and the passcode. Example: mypassword,879556<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"359\" height=\"262\" class=\"wp-image-189\" style=\"width: 250px\" src=\"http:\/\/inside.luthersem.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/02\/global-protect-append.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/inside.luthersem.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/02\/global-protect-append.png 359w, https:\/\/inside.luthersem.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/02\/global-protect-append-300x219.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 359px) 100vw, 359px\" \/><\/li><li>Click <strong>Connect<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: you will need to generate a new passcode each time you log back in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"troubleshooting\">Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">My phone isn&#8217;t getting notifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ensure that your phone is allowing notifications from Duo. &nbsp;<br><a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/HT201925#:~:text=If%20you%20don't%20see%20notifications%20for%20a%20specific%20app&amp;text=Go%20to%20Settings%20%3E%20Notifications%2C%20select%20the%20app%2C%20and%20make,that%20Allow%20Notifications%20is%20on.&amp;text=Go%20to%20Settings%20%3E%20Notifications%2C%20select%20the%20app%2C%20then%20select,Do%20Not%20Disturb%20is%20off.\">iPhone Notifications Help<\/a> <br><a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/android\/answer\/9079661?hl=en#zippy=%2Cturn-notifications-on-or-off-for-certain-apps\">Android Notifications Help<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> If you are expecting a notification and do not see one, manually launch your Duo app <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">I don\u2019t have my device with me!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Please contact the helpdesk for a temporary passcode. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">I&#8217;m Locked Out<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The lockout will clear after 15 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lock-outs can happen if the VPN tries to connect 10 times in a row without being approved in the Duo mobile app. This may happen while you are away from your computer if it is trying to re-connect to the VPN.
