The general purpose of the student council is to serve student interests and advocate on behalf of students. At each meeting of the Luther Seminary board, three students from the council are invited to attend. We use this time both to have a greater understanding of what’s going on behind the scenes on campus and to bring to light things from student perspectives that can be shared more fully with student representation. Those of us on the executive team of the council also attend enterprise leadership team (ELT) meetings to convey student perspectives. We are thankful for these spaces where student voices can be heard and respected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One big accomplishment this year was working with Dean Elton to provide more “in-person trajectories” for students who moved to campus to be in-person and have been taking classes primarily online. We are also engaging distributed learning (DL) students as they navigate hybrid and asynchronous courses, supporting how they message their needs for effective learning modalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also worked with Trina Smith to develop and offer a Pocket Survey, which helped us better understand<\/a> how we can remain an active presence on campus and an proactive partner for all students at the Seminary in representing their voices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
