A strange silence falls across the country. Many of you either preached last Sunday, or led in a faith community in some way. I&#8217;m sure it was challenging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;d like to offer two things for you this week:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">First, a sermon.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I had the unique opportunity to preach last Wednesday in Chapel. It was a doubly challenging service. First, we recognized All Saints&#8217; Day as a campus community, so emotions were tender. Second, it was the morning after the election. He has chosen to preach on <strong><em>Christ the Servant<\/em><\/strong> from Psalm 18:31-36, Philippians 2:1-9, and John 13:3-11. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a timely topic. We, as Christian Public Leaders, must always remember that our hope is not in human political systems. Our hope is in a God whose love and manner was revealed to us in Jesus Christ. Jesus showed us that leadership is not about wielding power over people. It is about loving people&#8211;ALL people&#8211;and restoring people into community and wholeness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>May you feel the presence of God&#8217;s love and peace this week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week is the first full week of post-election reality.
