Each week we are exploring stories where God has asked people to move into new places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This week, Dr. Shamani Shikwambi, <em>Dean of Students \/ Vice President of Inclusion and Belonging, <\/em>guides us through Joshua 1. Moses has died. Joshua has been called to take over the leadership position. He is about to lead the people across the Jordan River. They are not a mighty nation with a well-trained army. They are the second generation of Israelites who were emancipated from slavery and have been wandering through the wilderness for forty years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LORD encourages Joshua, \u201cbe strong and courageous\u2026as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have three spaces this week where we can gather around this text and bring our joys and fears to God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tuesday<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We will read the text and enter contemplative practice. I invite you to join us in the OCC meditation chapel or on <a href=\"https:\/\/luthersem.zoom.us\/j\/99323264523?pwd=PsJAZP8dDZdU9CBJPfp5Bc2aWbIYk1.1\">Zoom<\/a> to sit in centering prayer or contemplative sketching as we soak in the text for the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Wednesday<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Presider: Jon Anderson, <em>Director of Rural Ministries<\/em>. Preacher: Dr. Shamani Shikwambi, <em>Dean of Students \/ Vice President of Inclusion and Belonging<\/em>. We will celebrate Holy Communion and enjoy fellowship in the Chapel Cafe. Join us in the Chapel of the Incarnation or on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@LutherSeminary\/streams\">YouTube<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Thursday<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Join together for Lunch Church in the Dining Room. This is in-person only. Chapel Staff will lead us in a simple communal reflection on the text this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What about Reformation Day?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Most congregations will celebrate Reformation Day this Sunday.
