Students gathered on Saturday. We woke up to the horrific news of the shooting of John and Yvette Hoffman and the murder of Melissa and Mark Hortman. It was a tender and sacred moment to be able hold space in community in Chapel that morning. Our prayers flow for the Hortman family as we all grieve their deaths, and for the speedy recovery of John and Yvette Hoffman as we give thanks for their survival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God of mercy, grant us peace, justice, and healing in our hurting world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Chapel this Week<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All chapel services begin at 11:00am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wednesday &#8211; Service of Holy Communion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We are very excited and honored to welcome <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/divinity.duke.edu\/faculty\/william-willimon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Will Willimon<\/a><\/strong> to preach in chapel during our service of Holy Communion. All are welcome. The service will be livestreamed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Thursday | No Chapel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In honor of Juneteenth, school is closed and there is no chapel service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Friday &#8211; Lunch Church<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All are welcome to gather in the Dining Room for a community meal and spiritual practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Saturday &#8211; Simple Service of Sending<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We conclude RFS 2 by gathering in the Chapel of the Incarnation for a time of singing, Word, prayer, and sending. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week we transition from RFS 1 to RFS 2 (Residential Focus Session).
