{"id":96,"date":"2019-11-25T18:54:53","date_gmt":"2019-11-25T18:54:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/inside.luthersem.edu\/campus\/?p=96"},"modified":"2019-11-25T18:54:53","modified_gmt":"2019-11-25T18:54:53","slug":"campus-moves-november-2019-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inside.luthersem.edu\/campus\/2019\/11\/25\/campus-moves-november-2019-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Campus Moves &#8211; November 2019 Update"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As of November 1, 2019 the following items are being worked on specifically for the moves out of Northwestern Hall and Stub Hall:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\t<li>Adding a sever room to GXH<\/li>\n\t<li>Re-routing Fiber-optic cables from NWH<\/li>\n\t<li>Improving Networking throughout the buildings<\/li>\n\t<li>Improving WiFi access<\/li>\n\t<li>Adding natural gas to GXH<\/li>\n\t<li>Improvements to hallway lighting<\/li>\n\t<li>Painting rooms\/closets and hallways<\/li>\n\t<li>Patching walls and ceilings where needed<\/li>\n\t<li>Improvement of office lighting<\/li>\n\t<li>Improvement of air circulation<\/li>\n\t<li>Building shelving into closets if needed<\/li>\n\t<li>Improving community kitchens (adding a small kitchen space on BH 2<sup>nd<\/sup> floor)<\/li>\n\t<li>Improving exterior lighting<\/li>\n\t<li>Contracting\/scheduling movers<\/li>\n\t<li>Moving furniture<\/li>\n\t<li>Recycling and\\or shredding files &amp; books<\/li>\n\t<li>Moving Art\/Archive pieces to storage<\/li>\n\t<li>Preparing external storage areas with shelving<\/li>\n\t<li>Re-purposing houses into short-term housing<\/li>\n\t<li>Moving individual department items to \u2018long-term\u2019 storage<\/li>\n\t<li>Elevator access for 3rd floor BH (student housing) by ID access only<\/li>\n\t<li>Securing 3<sup>rd<\/sup> floor BH (student housing)<\/li>\n\t<li>Curb removal for shop parking near the north side of Bockman &#8211; DONE!<\/li>\n\t<li>Fire door transfer on second floor &#8211; DONE!<\/li>\n\t<li>Assessing how best to dispose of unwanted furniture\/items (stay tuned\u2026.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have questions about any\/all of this information please contact Ellen Elhard <a href=\"mailto:eelhard001@luthersem.edu\">eelhard001@luthersem.edu<\/a> or Heidi Albers <a href=\"mailto:halbers001@luthersem.edu\">halbers001@luthersem.edu<\/a> Also, as you have ideas and suggestions, please let us know. In the meantime&#8230;\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\t<li>Review your assigned space for size and what will fit.<\/li>\n\t<li>Desks or tables. Bring your chair. Chair mat?<\/li>\n\t<li>What files do you need daily? What can be in a central storage area on-site? What can be shredded or scanned? What can go into off-campus storage?<\/li>\n\t<li>Tech equipment: Computer\/Laptop, monitor(s), scanner, special-printer, etc.<\/li>\n\t<li>Access to community refrigeration for medicines, Mother\u2019s Room, etc.<\/li>\n\t<li>Packing boxes \/ Packing labels will be delivered to your department two weeks before your scheduled move date.<\/li>\n\t<li>Tape colors &#8211; blue throw; green keep\/save. Ask for more if needed!<\/li>\n\t<li>Kitchen \/ lunch set ups \u2013 community coffee stations with air pots will be available in BH &amp; GXH.<\/li>\n\t<li>Water bottle fillers are stationed on each floor of BH &amp; GXH.<\/li>\n\t<li>BH116 booked for classes through January 2020 &#8211; then available as a community room.<\/li>\n\t<li>Keys for individual office doors will be available when you move.<\/li>\n\t<li>Access for 3rd floor BH (student housing) will be by ID access only.<\/li>\n\t<li>Improvements are still being made to BH; use caution as you move about and look at various areas.<\/li>\n\t<li>Staff meeting spaces and rooms: BH7, BH114, BH101, BH232, GXH 3, GXH 307<\/li>\n\t<li>Shred-It boxes &amp; printers will be moved and available as per plans<\/li>\n\t<li>Gradually all classes\/departments will be on the south side of campus; watch for maps\/announcements so you know where things are located.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The upcoming \u2018move\u2019 calendar, Nov \u2013 Feb, is as follows:\u00a0 (Please note that there are a few other moves not yet scheduled.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>October &#8211; Mary Hess &#8211; Faculty (to BH104B)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>November 21 \u2013 Bill Silva-Breen \u2013 Financial Aid (to OCC 204)<br \/>\u2022 The Financial Aid Office will be closed Thursday, November 21 and Friday, November 22 as they relocate to Olson Campus Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>November 25 \u2013 Catherine Malotky \u2013 Stewardship (to BH 246)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>December 2 \u2013 Contextual Learning\/Candidacy (to BH237-242)<br \/>\u2022 The Contextual Learning \/ Candidacy Office will be closed Nov 27 prior to Thanksgiving break (Nov 28-29) and also Dec 2-3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>December 9 \u2013 Business Office (to BH 204, 205, 220)<br \/>\u2022 The Business Office will be closed Thursday, December 5 through Wednesday, December 11 as they relocate to Bockman Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>December 16 \u2013 Lifelong Learning (to BH 223-235)<br \/>\u2022 The Lifelong Learning Office will be closed Thursday, December 12 open as soon as they are able to after the move.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>January 2 &#8211;
