Join Mary Hess on June 21 for a digital storytelling workshop centered on sharing stories of connection to and care for the Earth. You don’t need to have any skill with either telling stories, or using digital tech, but you need to bring your own device (smart phone, tablet, or laptop) and a desire to share a story from your own experience and to listen to others. Participants can gather at 8:30 a.m. for coffee, and the workshop will begin at 9 a.m., then work until lunch in small circles to share stories using specific prompts and dialogue rules. After lunch (provided) the workshop will turn to a “co-laboratory,” where help will be offered as you use your own devices to audio record a short story, and then to tweak it with photos, music, and so on. The workshop concludes by 3 p.m. Professor Hess is particularly interested in welcoming international students to this project. This workshop will be held in person, but a future workshop may happen online if there is sufficient interest. For more information, contact Mary Hess, mhess@luthersem.edu.
