Virtual Sweater and Chili Share-Off
Don’t feel left out if you can’t make it to the Chili Cookoff on Friday. You’re invited to our Sweater and Chili Share-Off! There are two easy ways to participate: 1) Come to our virtual event (See link in Community Announcements email) wearing your festive sweater and ready to talk with your classmates 2) Submit your chili/stew/curry/soup recipe to be included in a cookbook (https://forms.gle/RKnTRfDyDrC33X569) our community can share!

Christmas Break Grocery Assistance

There will be a normal grocery assistance order on Dec. 15th.
The grocery assistance order to be picked up on Friday, Dec. 22nd will be due on Tuesday, Dec. 19th @5pm instead of Wednesday at 5pm. Late orders may not be placed at the Community Life Fellows’ discretion. Limit for this order will be $30.
No Grocery Assistance is available the week of December 29
Grocery Assistance will return to its normal schedule on Friday, January 3rd.
Tawk Lian’s PhD Oral Defense

The oral examination is a public event open to faculty, students, and staff; however, other than the candidate, only faculty members have speaking privileges.
What is a Ph.D. oral defense? The oral defense is the final step before graduation for Ph.D. degree candidates. The student has finished all research and is presenting a thesis that is an original contribution to the field of scholarship. A copy of the completed thesis is available before the defense for those in the Luther Seminary community.
Gingerbread House Contest
As you’re getting into the holiday the holiday spirit, consider creating a gingerbread house to submit for Community Life’s annual contest judged by our facilities and operations team–probably the most-qualified to judge them! Submit your gingerbread houses by Thursday Dec 21st at noon CST and winners will be announced on Tuesday Dec 26th!
