To celebrate October as cybersecurity awareness month and to help with phishing awareness we’ve made a cybersecurity training course available to students in Moodle (it will be on the main course dashboard). I invite students to go through this short course and take the quiz at the end. Doing so enters you in a drawing for a pair of Apple airpods.
Everyone who has a login to the Luther Seminary network has a role to play to keep our digital campus secure. Phishers are not always interested in you or your information. They’re often interested in using your login and email account to phish other people at the seminary who have access to valuable personal information.
Completing the quiz successfully by 3 p.m. October 31 will enter you in a drawing for a pair of Apple airpods. Winner will be notified by email.
What is a pocket survey?
These are short surveys to gauge your views about your experiences on campus. These should be distributed monthly and be based on a different topic each month. Responses will be shared with the Luther community. The “pocket survey” will take at the most five minutes to complete on a computer, tablet, or a phone. Taking the survey is voluntary, but we urge you to share your thoughts! These are confidential and anonymous. You don’t have to answer questions you are not comfortable with. We do ask for demographics as part of our commitment to inclusion and belonging. We want to acknowledge and respect how diversity influences perspectives.
What are the details?
The first pocket survey will focus on technology on campus. It opens Monday, October 2 and will close at the end of the day on Monday, October 9. You can access the survey via QR codes listed on posters around campus or follow this link to the survey.

Welcome to the fall semester from Grace Pomroy and Arlene Flancher in the Stewardship Leaders Program. Because of generous donors, we are able to provide Financial Wellness support for you FREE of CHARGE, and we are very excited about our 2023–24 offerings!
Please let us know which opportunities you are interested in. We are here to support you every step of the way in a shame-free, judgement-free zone. You can choose any or all of these offerings and we will contact you with more detailed information about how to get started!
Attention faculty and staff! Please join us at the Survey Research Group, formally known as the Qualtrics Users Group. We meet monthly via Zoom, with our next meeting on October 5 from 12–1 p.m. This group is for not just surveys, but also if you may use forms in Qualtrics, which is more sophisticated than Google Forms. For our next meeting we welcome you to learn about creating Reports in Qualtrics. There also should be time to ask questions on your projects and/or share what you have been doing. If you have questions and/or want to be added to our group, please contact Trina Smith (firstname.lastname@example.org).
