RFS Begins Friday, September 15
RFS begins this week! Make sure to review the schedule and mark your calendar with important events, including this Friday’s Back-to-School Block Party from 4–7 p.m. No classes Friday night—all are welcome!
Dustin Williams Departure
Dustin Williams has accepted a position as System Administrator at Lyon College and his last day at Luther Seminary will be Friday, September 15. Dustin has been a valued member of the Luther Seminary Office of Technology team for over nine years. For the past six years he has also served Augsburg University as a member of the shared services IT team. Dustin has been a valuable contributor at both institutions and he will be missed.
Please join me in wishing Dustin good luck in his new position.
Kazu Haga Author Event
This summer over 50 students, staff and faculty met in book clubs to read “Healing Resistance: A Radically Different Response to Harm.” Now everyone in the Luther Sem Community is invited to join our culminating event, a Q&A Session with the author Kazu Haga!
We’ll be meeting on Tuesday, September 19 from 2:30–4 p.m. Central Time to hear him answer questions (over Zoom) about the book and about the practice of Kingian Nonviolence. Join in person in the OCC Dining Room or online via the Zoom. See community announcements email for link.
You don’t have to have read the book or participated in the book clubs to join! The session will be recorded. Hope to see you there! Any questions, reach out to lmildahl001@luthersem.edu.
Give Day Is Coming
Give Day is just around on September 20-21, noon to noon. We hope you are able to join in the virtual celebration at giveday.luthersem.edu.
Seminary Relations is hosting a community meal immediately following chapel on Wednesday, September 20 to celebrate. Hope you can join us!
We will also have a fun photobooth in the dining room so be sure to check that out. To add to the fun, Give Day Zoom backgrounds are now available to use. All Luther Seminary faculty, staff, and students now have access to the Give Day backgrounds in your Zoom account. If you don’t see the backgrounds as an option to choose in your settings, make sure you have the latest Zoom update.
We understand that RFS is a very busy time for everyone so we wanted to make sure you are aware you can give your Give Day gift early! Go to giveday.luthersem.edu to make a gift securely online today. The Seminary Relations team thanks you in advance for helping to spread the word!
