Staff Transition in the Office of the Registrar
We are grateful to Mary Speranza-Reeder for her faithful service to Luther Seminary and to our students. Mary’s personal leave ended this past week and she notified us that she will not be returning to her position as registrar. Her resignation was effective immediately. Maria Olson has graciously agreed to continue serving as interim registrar for the next few months as we review staffing needs and engage in a search process.
We invite the community to thank Mary for her contributions to our community and wish her well on her next chapter. You can email a note for Mary via academicdean@luthersem.edu or drop a card in the box outside the Academic Affairs office (Gullixson third floor) by Friday, September 15.

RFS Begins Friday, September 15
RFS begins this week! Make sure to review the schedule and mark your calendar with important events, including this Friday’s Back-to-School Block Party from 4–7 p.m. No classes Friday night—all are welcome!

Virtual Coffee with Advocacy Chair Emelie Clements
Emelie will be hosting a virtual coffee chat for students on their Zoom on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1 p.m.–2 p.m. CST. See community announcements email for link.
The goal of this hour is for LGBTIA+ and allied students to come in and discuss changes they would like to see happen at Luther. No idea is too big. This space is for students not currently working within the advocacy group, nor is it for members of leadership, faculty, or staff—there will be separate coffee chats. You don’t need to stay the whole hour—just come, speak your piece, and you can leave! This is especially great if you’re a DL student who will not be attending our Ice Cream Social during the RFS! Grab a cuppa, and come on by!
