New Year, New Financially Well You
The Stewardship Leaders Program at Luther Seminary was designed with students and future ministry professionals in mind. We provide a variety of Financial Wellness offerings, based on student input, in a shame-free zone. Talking about money is hard. Talking about money is emotional. Talking about money and figuring out how to be financially healthy is also very important – for everyone.
Click here to see all our offerings and choose the ones that meet your financial wellness needs. We will get you more information.
Our most popular offering: A Financial Wellness Conversation with Stewardship Leaders Program Director, Grace Pomroy. Grace is a Certified Financial Educator who can provide helpful information about Budgeting, Saving, Investing, Debt Repayment, Clergy/Church Finance, and many more topics. She brings years of experience and has a passion for all things related to money and ministry – and will help you decide what next steps would be most helpful for you.

New Automatic External Defibrillators Installed
Three new Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) have been installed on campus. They can be found in the following locations:
1. OCC ground level near the elevator
2. Bockman Hall first floor near the elevator
3. Gullixson Hall first floor near the central stairwell
AED devices allow bystanders to perform life-saving actions for a person suffering cardiac arrest while waiting for first responders to arrive. No special training is required to use an AED; the device guides the user through the life-saving process. For more information, please see the manufacturer’s website.
Luther Library Book on Pope Emeritus Benedict
For your reading upon the recent passing of Pope Emeritus Benedict, here’s an intriguing (and award-winning, 2019) book: “The Pope : Francis, Benedict, and the Decision That Shook the World.” Also see our Library’s Bibliography on Pope Francis and Catholic Theology.
COVID-19 Dashboard for January 3–6
Reported employee cases: 0
Reported student cases: 0
Students in quarantine or isolation: 0
Reported cases only include students and employees who have been on campus within a period of time during which they may have been contagious. According to the CDC this includes two days prior to the onset of symptoms or a positive test.
If you have recently tested positive for COVID-19, or if you are an unvaccinated individual who has been in close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 (close contact is defined as being within 6 feet of that person for 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period), please report that to the appropriate person. For employees, that person is Michael Morrow (mmorrow001@luthersem.edu). Students should contact Leon Rodrigues (deanofstudents@luthersem.edu).
Contact Tracing Protocol
When an on-campus case of COVID-19 is reported, that person is first asked to stay off-campus and quarantine in accordance with CDC guidelines. In addition, the seminary takes two steps for contact tracing:
1. The Minnesota Department of Health is notified, per guidelines for institutions of higher education
2. The person reporting the case is asked to identify “close contacts”; the close contacts identified are notified of the exposure and asked to follow CDC guidelines for testing and quarantining (quarantine applies only to close contacts who are unvaccinated).
