New October 10: Christian Minimalism—Focus on What Matters Most

Posted on September 19, 2022

When? Monday morning, October 10 from 9:30–10:30 a.m. central time

Where? On Zoom – Registration link will be sent in the community announcements email.

The Stewardship Leaders Program is thrilled to welcome Becca Ehrlich, AKA the Christian Minimalist (also an author and an ELCA pastor), to Luther Seminary for our first Financial Wellness workshop of the academic year. The entire seminary community is welcome at this FREE Zoom workshop.

As Christians, we are called to be counter-cultural and strive to be minimalists in a consumer society—because we know that our life’s meaning is not wrapped up in material things.  Minimalism helps cut through the clutter and the busy-ness to refocus on God and the aspects of life that truly matter. Join us for a conversation with Becca Ehrlich to focus on what matters most and intentionally remove the rest.

Questions? Contact Arlene Flancher (aflancher001@luthersem.edu) or Grace Pomroy (gpomroy001@luthersem.edu) from the Stewardship Leaders Program.

COVID-19 Dashboard for September 12–16

Posted on September 19, 2022

Reported employee cases: 0

Reported student cases: 0

Students in isolation: 1

Reported cases only include students and employees who have been on campus within a period of time during which they may have been contagious. According to the CDC this includes two days prior to the onset of symptoms or a positive test.

If you have recently tested positive for COVID-19, please report that to the appropriate person. For employees, that person is Michael Morrow (mmorrow001@luthersem.edu). Students should contact Leon Rodrigues (deanofstudents@luthersem.edu).

Contact Tracing Protocol

When an on-campus case of COVID-19 is reported, that person is first asked to stay off-campus and isolate in accordance with CDC guidelines. In addition, the seminary takes two steps for contact tracing:

1. The Minnesota Department of Health is notified, per guidelines for institutions of higher education

2. The person reporting the case is asked to identify “close contacts”; the close contacts identified are notified of the exposure and asked to follow CDC guidelines.
