Luther Seminary’s Senior Admissions Counselor and Recruiter, Tim Schroeder (MDiv, ’18), has accepted an amazing vocational opportunity to work with Portico Benefit Services as their Regional Representative for Region 3 and parts of Region 4, serving as a rostered minister of the ELCA in a specialized call. Tim’s last day at Luther will be Wednesday, September 28.
This of course comes as a great loss to the Luther Seminary community, where Tim has served in the Admissions Office for four years on staff and another previous four years as a student worker. Tim has served his role accompanying discerning students with great dedication and integrity and we will forever benefit from his remarkable contributions in hospitality, recruitment, relationship-building, and advocacy.
Tim played an integral role in shaping Luther Seminary’s Welcome Statement, working tirelessly with his colleagues to move forward the work of the ABIDE committee, and advocating for inclusion and belonging as a daily practice in his life and work. Tim’s gift for welcome extended to his work to form the International Student Hospitality program in collaboration with ISSA and to move all of Admissions’ event and conversation offerings online during the challenging pivots of Covid-19.
His colleagues will miss his presence in our shared work and give thanks for his professionalism, giant heart, and lasting impact on our community. We look forward to seeing how God calls him forward in his life and ministry for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and trust that Tim will continue to widen the invitation to the table of grace for all people in his new call.
Please join us for a farewell and send-off for Tim on Wednesday, September 28 from 3:00-5:00 pm in the Admissions Office and lobby in the Olson Campus Center.
