Posted on March 21, 2022

You are invited to attend a conversation with special guest Austen Hartke, author of the book “Transforming: The Bible and the Lives of Transgender Christians.” Hear Austen describe his experiences of discovering a liberating word in the Bible and journeying with others who are seeking to do the same. This event is planned to provide insights to the sections of the Scripture and Its Witnesses course that are meeting this semester, and it is also open to all currently enrolled students, staff, and faculty. The moderated conversation will include time for Q&A and discussions with those who attend. Join us!

11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Central Tuesday March 22

In person (on campus) in Dining Rooms A&B (OCC) and online via Zoom. The Zoom link will be included in the community announcements email.

You are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat while you attend.

Austen Hartke is a graduate of Luther Seminary (’14 M.A.) and the author of “Transforming: The Bible and the Lives of Transgender Christians.” He is also the founder and executive director of Transmission Ministry Collective.

How someone rates their financial situation, in most cases, has less to do with their financial situation and more with their emotional relationship with money. Financial anxiety is a part of this. The Stewardship Leaders Program will be exploring this topic with financial therapist Lindsay Bryan-Podvin who specializes in the area of financial anxiety.
