March 4 Chapel: Prayers for Ukraine

Posted on March 4, 2022

At 11 a.m. Central, we will gather in the chapel and by Zoom in a hybrid prayer offering to pray for Ukraine and for all of the places in the world and in our lives that are marked with suffering. Prayers will be offered at prayer stations through word and silence, candle and darkness, stillness and motion, typed text in the chat and written words on the page.

The Zoom link will be included in the community announcements email.

Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Check-In With Student Council Today

Posted on March 4, 2022

Hello friends! Are you curious about Luther and RIC? Or are you interested in getting involved? We’d love to hear your questions and your thoughts! Join us for an in-person meetup today, Friday, March 4, right after chapel (virtual meetup to come!). We’ll have some designated tables set up in the Dining Room, so grab your lunch and come meet some of the student leaders of this movement. Questions? Lauren Mildahl (lmildahl001@luthersem.edu) or Esther Sianipar (esianipar001@luthersem.edu).

Everything You Need to Know About Luther Seminary and Reconciling in Christ Part 2

Posted on March 4, 2022

Last week, Lauren Mildahl reported on the current Reconciling in Christ (RIC) movement at Luther Seminary led by the Student Council. In this week’s Part 2 of “Everything You Need to Know About Luther Seminary and Reconciling in Christ,” Lauren presents the history of RIC at Luther Seminary (stretching back to 2009) and explores the current barriers preventing Luther from becoming an RIC seminary.

Whether you are a staff or faculty member, student, or alumni, I encourage you to read this article to learn about the little-known history of the seminary to discover why so many students are declaring that Luther does not feel like a safe place for them to study and grow. You can read it today on The Concord’s website, and let us know your thoughts in the comments!
