Thank You From Faith+Lead Academy

Posted on February 17, 2022

Terri Elton and Tessa Pinkstaff want to thank our colleagues who joined us this week to hear about Faith+Lead Academy at the community forum and the lunch and learn gathering. We promised to share the following resources: the listening session blog posts from Katie Langston (“Changing the Conversation”) and Jon Anderson (“Learning From and With Rural Ministry Leaders”), and the article mentioned by Lois Malcolm (“The Dissenters Trying to Save Evangelicalism From Itself”).

We also want to extend an invitation to anyone in our community who would like to receive updates about our progress. Use this form to add your name to our list, to recommend others we should talk to, and to learn about future opportunities for involvement. Thank you again for your support!

A New Article From The Concord on Reconciling in Christ

Posted on February 17, 2022

On January 31, at a special meeting, the Luther Seminary Student Council voted unanimously to approve a proposal that calls for Luther to begin the process to become a Reconciling in Christ organization. Becoming Reconciling in Christ would mean that Luther openly and intentionally welcomes, affirms, and offers protection for LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC students.

In this week’s article, Lauren Mildahl reports on the present push at Luther to become Reconciling in Christ (RiC), why the student council believes we should become an RiC seminary, and what you can do to get involved! Everyone student, faculty, and staff member at Luther needs to read this article, and then stay tuned for Part Two next week!
